As the summer approaches, the need for fun rises greatly. The Seminole
Bingo night will be offered at Seminole every Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday at Seminole.
It will be offered to people only 18 and over because the Seminole county school board feels as if it would create too much excitement. The school board also feels as if it would be too violent for people under the age of 18 to handle.
A sophomore at Seminole, Jenna Mary stated, “I think bingo night would be a great idea. I totally agree with the idea of only allowing people to participate in the night if they are older than 18. Bingo is an intense game, and things could get out of hand really quickly.”
Cathy Morgan, a senior, said, “I personally have a problem with limit to bingo night should be 18. I started school early and I’m only 17. I think they should revise it to only 17 years old because then it would be open to a wider crowd of people.”
The controversial game day is still being planned very cautiously, as the school board does not want to create an up rise within the community. The idea will be brought in front of the parental board to ensure that there are not problems with the game being brought to Seminole.
A large lump sum of cash will be offered every third Thursday of every month to bring excitement to the game night. The money will come from donations made from various organizations and volunteers of Seminole county.
A junior, April Primér, stated, “I want to have my birthday at a bingo night. I think that it’d be a perfect opportunity for me and my friends to mingle. It’d be a night that would be a mature, fun filled night.”
Bingo night will be a new experience to bring to Seminole and it will change things up. The preparations are still in effect, but it should be available sometime during mid-summer this year. This summer should be a good one, every Monday, Thursday, and Sunday at the bingo bash.
