Seminole High School (SHS)  has started the first girls flag football team in Seminole history. Their first preseason game was against the Deland Bulldogs on Tuesday, February 13th. The game started back and forth, with a lot of punting going on. Not much movement from both teams but that is expected because it is such a new sport. Deland makes the first move by scoring the first touchdown of the game. The Seminoles defense is lacking but they still have a chance to come back since it’s still early. Deland scores another shortly after making the score 0-14. Deland’s team is looking amazing right now, they are definitely in the zone. Seminoles defense starts to pick up as interceptions start to fly. Disaster strikes as the Bulldogs get another touchdown near the end of the game to close it out 0-20. Seminole’s first game is a loss but it is a brand new sport at SHS. The girls are going to have to take this loss and use it as fuel to win the next couple games. The Seminoles play their first regular season game February 20th at 5:15 against Lake Howell High School so be sure to support the team!!
