As the Class of 2025 prepares to graduate, many look forward to the next chapter of their life at Florida State University (FSU).
FSU has a long and rich history as one of the oldest universities in America. Founded in 1851, it is considered one of the most prestigious colleges in Florida. Specializing in numerous fields like business, law, engineering, and med, it allows students to truly get a grasp on their future. Bringing in unique perspectives from around the world is something that FSU values and fosters.
But FSU also fosters other aspects besides academics, such as its community. With its amazing social scene and fun parties, it’s also a college known for letting loose when the stress of academics gets too high. From student organizations to attending games, there’s always something happening around campus. Sororities and frats are also offered around campus during rush season. Creating an equal balance between academics and social life allows everyone to have a well-rounded life, catching many people’s eyes with the electric atmosphere and vibrant community it offers.
With a competitive 25% acceptance rate, gaining admission is challenging but reachable. With each incoming class, FSU broadens its history and stories, and the Class of 2025 is no exception. Bringing with them a sense of curiosity, ambition, and a need for change, these students are ready to make their mark at FSU.
Located in Florida’s capital, Tallahassee, FSU is a prime destination spot for students looking for a blend of culture, academics, and community. The campus is known for its architecture going back decades, offering students to experience historical landmarks like the Wescott building. This allows students to experience immaculate sights with generational history. This college also takes pride in its diversity. FSU makes an effort to support all groups by creating an inclusive environment and welcoming atmosphere. With over 700 organizations and clubs, it promotes student involvement, offering many diverse opportunities. This ranges from sororities to athletics, offering an environment for students to grow and challenge themselves.
“I want to go to FSU because I think it really fits what I’m looking for in a college- a big college campus but not too big, a town that is college-oriented but it’s not just about college, and it is also good for my major that I am going to. I also chose FSU because it’s based in Tallahassee and there are a lot of internship opportunities and ways to excel in my intended major there.” Akshitha Pinnimaraju, an IB senior, explains, “It’s also a great way to experience college life as it is a state college and it’s pretty far from my hometown so I can make new friends.”
FSU also offers a strong range of sports. However, one stands out above the rest- football. With it being one of the top teams in the nation, there are around 12 games that are fully decked out. With songs, dances, and a screaming crowd, their tickets sell out fast. Many students have already begun to go to these games, experiencing the overflowing crowds and cheers, creating a core memory. The students of 2025 will be able to experience this rush starting with its tailgates and campus events.
For the Class of 2029, their journey is now starting and FSU is their starting point. Ranging from having fun to making the most of their studies, these students are ready to join this vibrant community. From engineers to the medical field, every student is excited to see what path they go on. Go Noles.
