Sitcom fans are rejoicing due to the recent news that the TV series Full House will return to air through Netflix in 2016. Actor John Stamos, who played uncle Jesse Katsopolis on Full House, announced the news on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Junior Lindsay Martin says, “Everyone loves Full House, so I think people will definitely be excited for [Fuller House].”
The spin-off will be known as Fuller House and will include many of the celebrated characters from Full House. Within the 13 episodes Netflix has purchased, Fuller House will present the adult lives of sisters DJ Tanner-Fuller and Stephanie Tanner, both characters who will be played by their original actresses Candice Cameron-Bure and Jodie Sweetin.
Junior Jamira Perkins says, “As a big fan of Full House, I feel it will be difficult to watch the characters all grown up or completely new characters.”
Netflix announced that the plotline follows a recently widowed DJ Tanner-Fuller with her two young sons in San Francisco and their relations with DJ’s longtime best friend and fellow single mother Kimmy Gibbler and her children.
Many television fans, however, are not necessarily looking forward to the spin-off show. Fans believe that Fuller House will never live up to the success of Full House.
Junior Alejandro Villanueva says, “Extrapolating from my previous experiences of original series and the subsequent release of shows based on the original, Fuller House will not be as popular or well done as Full House.”
Although a specific date has yet to be released, the Full House fan base can expect to watch Fuller House in 2016.
