This Friday Night Lights football game was one of the biggest yet this season. The fighting Seminoles took on the Titusville Terriers in an attempt to keep their winning streak going.
With eight minutes on the clock in the second quarter, Khamani Robinson secured a 52-yard rushing touchdown, with the extra point made by kicker Liam Allen. The Noles recover a fumble by Titusville, awarding them possession of the ball, while Seminole is in the Terriers red zone. A passing touchdown is made at 5:00 by Michael Clayton to Xavier Tucker. The two then conspired for a long pass, leading up to another passing touchdown, with the extra point.
The scoreboard read 20-0, Seminoles, to start off the second quarter. Following that, De’Shawn Watkins scored a 22-yard rushing touchdown, with a good extra point by Allen. At this point the fans were encouraged, looking forward to another win. The Noles notoriously intercepted a Titusville pass. The Terriers are not giving up just yet, they made a passing touchdown leading the score to 27-7.
This led us to the part everyone was looking forward to: halftime. As the players exited the field, the candidates running for homecoming king and queen entered. The candidates all walked out with their partners, the women in long dresses and the men in suits and formal attire. Finally, it was announced, homecoming king and queen. Congratulations to Joshua Mariano and Christine Doria!
There were no scores in the third quarter, but it did include a turnover on downs, leading to a Seminole first down.
The fourth quarter started with Titusville on second down. Shortly the Terriers kicked a 41-yard field goal. With eight minutes on the clock, Robinson scored a 38-yard rushing touchdown. Brandon Simms had a big play with a tackle for loss.
Next week, the Fighting Seminoles play Lake Mary at home. Let’s hope they make it 7-0!
