With the recent pandemic, Bachelor Nation is going crazy! The new season of the highly popular Bachelorette is facing many new changes to accommodate the growing pandemic. Originally, the bachelorette was going to be Clare Crawley but her season came to a quick stop when she said she found the love of her life leaving casting to replace the bachelorette with Tayshia Adams. With all of this, the show faces an even greater issue: filming during a global pandemic. 

Some fans, however, do not support the idea of filming a show in the middle of a growing pandemic. Flordelee Pino, a sophomore in the Health Academy program at Seminole High School says, “I don’t think it is a good idea to be filming the show right now during the pandemic because it is not a top priority.”

Traditionally, contestants would stay in the Bachelor Mansion, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they had to move the contestants into an isolated private resort. Before coming on the show, all contestants had to quarantine and take a COVID-19 test proving that they were negative to be able to become a contestant on the new season airing in the fall of 2020. ABC is also making sure the one on one and group dates are safe, and public health professionals are consulting the producers at all times. 

Crawley posted on Instagram “In all seriousness,  Everyone’s health is the most important priority at this time, and asI’m sure you’ve heard, we are pressing pause for now on filming The Bachelorette. We are taking it day by day and even hour by hour as this is so unpredictable.”

Crawley left early in her season when she said she fell in love with one of her contestants. She reportedly had feelings for the man she gave her first impression rose to, Dale Moss who is a football wide receiver. She said she didn’t want to continue if she had already found her true love. Crawley didn’t want to lead on other contestants. The producers were utterly shocked and had to find someone to continue the season, so they contacted Adams. The eager and new, Adams will be replacing Crawley’s spot as the new bachelorette. Adams first made her appearance on Colton’s season of the bachelor where she thought she found love, but in the end, it did not work out for them. She moved on and was able to find peace in herself again. She can’t want to start her new journey to find love. 

Bachelorette fan and IB Senior, Kruthi Munugti, states, “We need more diversity in the cast, I think Tayshia is the perfect person for it!”

ABC started filming the next season of the Bachelor. Fan-favorite Matt James is going to be the next bachelor. He made an appearance on Hannah Brown’s season of the Bachelorette. All of the Bachelor Nation went crazy for him when he didn’t get chosen fans were upset. Bachelor Nation is so pumped to see James making a come back. His season will also be filmed at a private resort but this time they are changing things up and going to the east coast. They aren’t allowed to travel anywhere, so they will be staying in Pennsylvania. They still will take all of the same safety precautions that they did when filming the start of Crawley’s season consisting of COVID tests, safe group and one on one dates, quarantining, and health professionals there at all times. 

Fans are upset to see Crawley leave the season so early but excited for Adams to start her new journey. Bachelor Nation didn’t want to see Crawley leave so early, and they think she made a big mistake saying she got too invested in one man or she should have given the other guys a chance. The whole show is about finding a true connection and someone you want to spend the rest of your life with, while still following your heart, which is exactly what Crawley did. Fans want to see Adams fall in love and choose the perfect person for her. Stay tuned for a dramatic season!
