After the storm on Thursday night, all the students at Seminole High School (SHS) came dressed in their favorite jerseys, but not for the reason you may think.
This dress up day led by our very own Seminole Lead was not for the upcoming football game, but instead to celebrate Mr. Wynn, a huge part of SHS. Mr. Sylvester Wynn has been a part of the education system for 40 years , mostly dedicating his time to SHS, and is now departing into retirement. The school hosted a pep rally with the theme basketball, a nod to Mr. Wynn’s impact on SHS.
Before coming to SHS, Principal Micheal Pfeiffer shares tha Mr. Wynn was even part of the US Army. Here at SHS though, Mr. Wynn has worn many hats including a security guard, administrator, head basketball coach and Assistant Athletic Director.
When asked Principal Micheal Pfeiffer his message to Mr. Wynn, he stated: “Mr. Wynn, thank you for your steadfast leadership and your dedication to SHS, its community, and its students. SHS is truly an amazing school, and this is a direct reflection of you! Thank you for being a partner and a friend. I truly wish you a wonderful and well-deserved retirement!”
The students gathered around as they played basketball, listened to music, and enjoyed each other’s company. It was a perfect farewell for an inspiring figure at Seminole. Even though, Mr. Wynn might not be teaching at Seminole anymore, he will always be a part of the family.
Mr. Wynn, we here at SHS are wishing you the best in everything and remember to come visit us because once a Nole, always a Nole.
