As the school year is back up and running, students might be experiencing some late study nights and long school days. Luckily, the new updates upcoming in the cafeteria may be able to help with those tiring, early mornings as well as convenience during lunch time.
Seminole’s Red Apple Dining Cafe is bringing two new exciting updates to elevate your cafeteria experience, the first update being a new coffee shop named Filtered Coffee and Cuisine.
“I think that the new coffee area in the cafeteria is a great new addition and I think it’s very convenient,” Aashni Popli, an IB sophomore, says. “There’s a lot of people, including me, who love coffee, and because we are at school so early, having coffee available is a good source to fuel people during tough weeks. Overall, I look forward to the new cafe, and I can see myself getting coffee and snacks from there very often.”
Coffee is a drink loved by so many, especially high schoolers. The coffee shop innovation will hopefully aid many high schoolers during the upcoming rough months, such as AP exam season or 9 weeks exams, when students are often experiencing gruesome and tiring mornings. While Filtered is not open yet, students are looking forward to the new addition and to be able to get their daily dose of caffeine right here on campus.
Another update that has already been put in place is a window outside the cafeteria where students are able to buy their lunch. This alternative way to buy lunch is an easy and convenient way to avoid the long lines inside. Almost giving a feeling of ordering at a drive through, the outdoor window has been utilized and enjoyed thoroughly through these first weeks of school.
Jason Williams, a Seminole junior says, “The window outside is actually better so it won’t be so crowded inside and people who are sitting outside can get lunch easier.” The new window is definitely already adding convenience to a student’s lunch time experience. It is also an easy place to get a quick cookie or water without having to wait in the long lines inside.
The fresh air and sunshine provide a pleasant change from the crowded indoor cafeteria setting, allowing students to socialize with friends while staying fueled quickly during their lunch break. A struggle many students face is waiting in long lines, which results in less time to eat their lunch. This outdoor dining option has quickly become a popular spot, not only for its convenience but also for the opportunity it offers students to relax and unwind amidst the hustle and bustle of the school day. With around 2,000 students in each lunch, the inside of the cafeteria can often get extremely busy and getting lunch can be next to impossible. The availability of this outdoor window has truly enhanced the overall dining experience and has added an enjoyable element to students’ lunch routine.
Leah Ko, an IB sophomore, is also looking forward to all the new updates coming to the cafeteria. “Lunch time is the time of the day I get to relax for a bit from my busy classes, so the cafeteria updates are very exciting. When I saw they were adding a coffee shop, I couldn’t believe it because it’s not something you see in many schools. I am very curious to see what kind of drinks they will have. Regardless, I’m sure it’ll be a big hit with all the students”. Leah emphasized how the coffee shop is something new and innovative and she among many other students are looking forward to its opening.
