This past year, Disney Animation Studio’s Frozen awed the public, bringing in $1.3 billion worldwide and surpassing any previous Disney productions for Box Office sales. On MSN News, Idina Menzel, vocal actress for Elsa, confirmed that a sequel and a Broadway adaption are in the making

“From an artistic standpoint, [Frozen] was wonderfully done; it was an artistic masterpiece by Disney. I want to see Anna show up with some special powers, like Anna on fire,” says senior Keziah Kaut.

Although much information about the plotline for Frozen 2 hasn’t been revealed, the release date for the film will be confirmed this spring. The major actors, Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell, will be returning as Elsa and Anna. As expected, new music will also be featured in this sequel.

In addition to a second Frozen movie, Disney Animation studios announced that a short film titled Frozen Forever will be released in the spring of 2015. This production will be bringing back all the main characters, including Olaf the Snowman and the favorite sisters, Elsa and Anna. According to DailyMail, Frozen Forever takes place during Anna’s birthday, and although Elsa and Kristoff want to give Anna the best birthday party imaginable, Elsa’s ice powers create some complications.

Junior Aryton Ciancimino says, “Being a guy, I’m not really into the princess-y stuff. I’d want to see a bit more action in the sequel.”

A Broadway production of this successful movie was confirmed as well. Despite Idina Menzel’s accomplished career in Broadway, the actress clarified on TIME that she would not be playing the role of Elsa for the Broadway adaptation.

“A Broadway production sounds really exciting! I really want to see how they’ll pull off the special effects,” says junior Samah Meghjee.

With all the anticipation surrounding the new Frozen productions, it’s evident that this franchise’s ever-growing fan base won’t be letting it go any time soon.
