November is a month best known for its much anticipated holiday, Thanksgiving. With everyone reunited during this time, people are eager to go to the movies. Luckily, we complied a list of five fantastic films for November to provide you with a much-needed break from the chaotic festivities.
- Thor: Ragnarok: This superhero action movie is jam-packed with epic battles and witty humor throughout. In this movie, Thor becomes stranded on another side of the universe along with the Incredible Hulk. He must fight his way through a gladiator-style arena to make his way home to Asgard, where the Goddess of Death, Hela, threatens to destroy everything.
With a rating of 93 percent, this movie is sure to be a hit for many.
“I really enjoyed it. I love Marvel, so it was really a treat. It was super funny, and I would definitely recommend anyone to go and see it,” said junior Selena Frederick.

- Coco: This colorful family film is sure to get the tears flowing. Even though his family has banned music, Miguel, the protagonist, dreams of becoming a successful musician. To prove his talent, Miguel ends up in the Land of the Dead, where he unlocks the truth to his family’s past. With beautiful and fun musical numbers, this movie is perfect for a family outing.

- Lady Bird: For those more interested in mature, coming-of-age flicks, this movie will be a great choice. Lady Bird, a high school senior, struggles with her overbearing, hypocritical mother as she navigates through her life, on the brink of adulthood. Lady Bird is portrayed by Saoirse Ronan, who has starred in films like Brooklyn and The Host.

- Justice League: This movie is sure to please all the DC Comics fans. After Superman’s death, Bruce Wayne, also known as Batman, takes on the task of recruiting a team of superheroes to defeat a new and powerful enemy. Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman team up in this action-packed movie.
“I am really excited for the movie, and to see Ezra Miller portray The Flash. I think that he will do an amazing job showing us a different perspective of the Flash’s character,” said sophomore Cyanela Lopez.

- Wonder: This heartwarming story is based off a New York Times Best Seller of the same name. The main character, August Pullman, is a little boy with facial deformities due to a rare medical condition. He enters elementary school, where he and his classmates all learn valuable life lessons. This film features Julia Roberts and Owen Wilson. Daveed Diggs will also be in this film, a pleasant surprise for Hamilton fans.
“I loved the book Wonder, so I can not wait to see it portrayed on film. I also really like Julia Roberts, so I am excited she is in this movie,” said junior Victoria Farkowski.
