Last night on Friday the 13th, The Noles played their third game against the Monarch Knights out of Coconut Creek, Florida.
Rodney Grant III kicked off the first quarter only one minute into the game with a 19-yard rushing touchdown. The extra point was made by senior Liam Allen. Although this was a great start to the game, the Knights are a tough opponent, securing a 10-yard rushing touchdown. The Seminoles successfully stopped the two point conversion. Khamani Robinson had a long run, leading up to another touchdown for the Noles.
With eight minutes on the clock, Monarch makes a passing touchdown, with a failed two point conversion. They then recovered a fumble by the Seminoles. At 1:00 in the second quarter, Monarch completed another rushing touchdown. The Noles make it clear that they are not giving up, with Allen kicking a 43-yard field goal.
The third quarter began, and the scoreboard read 20-16, Knights. Monarch made a long pass, awarding them the ball on the Noles 37-yard line. The Noles had a big play, a tackle for loss, moving toward a turnover on downs. Seminole ends off the quarter by punting to the monarchs.
A turnover on downs awarded the Noles the ball on their own 35-yard line. The Seminoles were on third down, and one minute later at 3:00, a rushing touchdown was made, carrying along the extra point. At this point, the score read 20-23, Seminoles. There was a big play from Javon Peterson, senior, a sack. At this intense point in the game, the Noles intercepted a Monarch pass. With only one minute on the clock, the Knights recovered a fumble by Seminole, giving Monarch the ball on the 45-yard line.
The fans and players knew that this was going to be a tight game, but both teams fought until the end. Monarch came through with a 30-yard pass completed for a touchdown, with a failed two point conversion. At this point, fans were on the edge of their seats hoping for a comeback from the Noles. With only 30 seconds left in this game, Michael Clayton, quarterback, had an 18-yard pass completed for a touchdown, with an extra point by Allen.
The final score in this game was 30-26, with the Seminoles pulling through. The Noles are currently at a 3-0 record, hoping to keep it up going into the next game against Lake Wales.
