This week, students will be given the chance to take the PSAT and SAT. It’s very vital to be in attendance and meet the test scores needed in order to graduate, get into college, and possibly gain scholarship opportunities. The schedule can get quite confusing, so here is what you need to know about the testing schedule.
On Monday the 21st, sophomores will be given the chance to take the PSAT. Juniors will also be given the PSAT on Tuesday the 22nd. However, in order for juniors to qualify to take this test, they must have signed up and paid prior through the College Board website. If you are a junior and haven’t signed up, you will not be taking this assessment.
Taking the PSAT is very important since it allows students to understand how the SAT works and get a sense of what type of questions will be asked on the SAT in the future. The purpose of allowing students to take the PSAT is for students to have an opportunity of qualifying for a National Merit Scholarship, which will help in the future when it comes down to college tuition.
On Thursday the 24th and Friday the 25th, seniors will be given the SAT. It’s important to take advantage of this assessment, since taking the SAT outside of school does cost money each time that you take it. In order to qualify for the Bright Futures scholarship, you must meet a minimum score of 1350.
In order to see when you test and where your testing location is, an email has been sent to your school email account along with QR codes that have been posted throughout the campus. Make sure to check this information and know when you test, since taking the PSAT and SAT is very important in your future.
