Both boys JV and varsity lacrosse teams headed out on a cold Friday night in Longwood to play against the Lake Brantley Patriots.
In the first quarter of the JV game, the Noles had possession of the ball the majority of the time but weren’t able to score a goal. Lake Brantley scored a goal within five minutes of the second quarter. Luckily, the Noles were able to tie the game up, making it 1-1 before halftime.
After halftime, the Patriots scored two back-to-back shots within the first few minutes. Soon after, another goal was scored with six minutes left in the third quarter, leaving the score at 4-1.
The Noles did not back down, with two minutes left before the final quarter, they were able to score. The crowd was looking forward to what the final 10 minutes had in store.
Within three minutes of the fourth quarter, the Noles shot two amazing goals to tie the game with only six minutes left on the clock. Soon after, the Patriots scored again, creating a lead at 5-4. With much determination and team effort, the Noles tied the game up with three minutes left on the clock.
Within the final two minutes of the game, the Patriots scored. Lake Brantley fans went wild until the Noles did the unthinkable. They were able to shoot a buzzer-beating goal which ended the game in a tie with the final score being 6-6.
After the JV game ended, the crowd was anticipating what Varsity had in store. The Noles were able to score the first goal of the first quarter. The shot was taken by Junior Robert DeLany. With two minutes left in the first, the Patriots scored two goals, both from Dax Hejtmanek to take the lead. In the second, Hejtmanek scored once again.
Seminole still fought hard and were able to score another goal from Robert Delaney once again. Setting the score to 3-2 going into halftime with the Patriots in the lead.
Returning from halftime, the game took an unfortunate turn. One goal was scored in the third quarter by the Patriots. Going into the fourth, with a score of 4-2. The final quarter was intense with Seminole fans watching on the edge of their seats. However, the Noles weren’t able to score during the last quarter, but the Patriots gained another two points.
