Seminole High School’s (SHS) Model United Nations (MUN) team is back at it again with their second conference of the year, this time right here in their hometown! This past weekend, delegates from the SHS MUN team attended the University of Central Florida’s annual high school MUN conference, KnightMUN. Throughout the weekend, delegates did everything from allying with other countries to prevent climate change, to being on the Formula 1 board of directors, to even becoming the KnightMUN secretariat themselves and attempting to plan their own conference.
This year’s KnightMUN also gave our Seminole delegates the chance to grow and improve their MUN skills. IB senior Zia Ali talked about her experience at her first KnightMUN: “KnightMUN was my first MUN conference and it was so much fun! I had such a good time meeting new students from around Florida but I was also able to grow closer bonds with people within the Seminole MUN team too. I also got the chance to learn so much more about how MUN works and I feel like I grew as a delegate over the weekend.” For many, just like Zia, KnightMUN was their first encounter with MUN and gave first time delegates a good feel for the overall concept of MUN.
And of course, what MUN conference would it be without Seminole bringing home some awards! Congratulations to the following delegates who received an award.
