To be a receptionist, a person has to be friendly, outgoing, and efficient. Patsy Guy displays each of these qualities and more as Seminole High School’s front office receptionist. However, like all of Seminole High’s facility, Ms. Guy has a life out of school that helps her to continuously impact other people’s lives.
Ms. Guy was born and raised in Sanford, Florida and class of 1970 at Croom’s High School. She loves her job as Seminole High School’s receptionist, stating “I love it because I love children and people. I enjoy […] trying to help children especially have a better day and stay focus in life.”
People who walk into Seminole High’s office can see her open and caring personality. Many of Seminole High’s students can see how kind Ms. Guy is.
Junior Jacob Shull expressed, “She’s really friendly and she’s always in a good mood. […] She’s the kind of person that when you see her she brightens your day.”
A front office receptionist’s job is not an easy since they’re dealing with different personalities every day. A receptionist also has to be organized and has to be able to multi-task.
An anonymous sophomore said, “She is amazing at her job because she pays attention to the students. She is incredibly nice and helpful [too].”
Beyond her position as Seminole’s receptionist, Ms. Guy also has a life outside of school. She continuously tries to help and impact people’s lives positively.
“I love spending time with ‘family’ and helping people in the church area,” said Ms. Guy, “My gift is helping people that are less fortunate than me because I am truly ‘blessed’.”
Ms. Guy continuously pursues helping people and tries to make it her passion to help anyone leave happier than how they were when they met her. Seminole High has an amazing receptionist, and Ms. Guy is the right person for the job. The impact she has on kids alone shows how great of a role model she is.
