This year, the finalists were the Eagles and the Chiefs. The Chiefs, returning for their third Super Bowl in a row, and the Eagles returning for their second.
On February 9, 2025, the Philadelphia Eagles secured their second Super Bowl title by defeating the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
By halftime, the Eagles had already pushed ahead, leading 24-0. Julen Hurts showcased his skill set, completing 17 of 22 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns, while also contributing 72 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground. He earned the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award for his exceptional performance.b
Defensively, the Eagles effectively neutralized Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, sacking him six times and forcing multiple turnovers. The Chiefs’ offense struggled to find momentum, managing their first touchdown only in the third quarter.

The halftime show featured Kendrick Lamar who gave us a captivating performance, with a guest appearance by SZA, adding to the excitement of the event. The show commenced with Samuel L. Jackson, portraying “Uncle Sam,” introduced Lamar, who emerged from a 1980s-style car onto a stage designed to resemble a giant PlayStation controller. Jackson’s character evoked questions from the audience, reflecting on American cultural perceptions of rap music and Black individuals without outright speaking for it.
Lamar’s setlist featured a mix of his acclaimed tracks, including “Humble,” “DNA,” and “All the Stars.” He was joined by SZA for their collaborations “Luther” and “All the Stars,” which was highly anticipated, adding to the memorable performance.
A notable moment was the appearance of tennis star Serena Williams, who performed a crip walk during “Not Like Us,” a track known for its critique of fellow rapper Drake. Drake was seen in the crowd, and many people continued to ridicule him online.
