February 14th, also known as Valentine’s Day, is a time spent to commemorate the special people in your life. This day can be spent with girlfriends/boyfriends, best friends, or anyone that holds significant importance to you. Many people wonder what plans to arrange for this special day, so if this is you be sure to stick around.
Valentine’s Day is an extra special day to people in romantic relationships, and has shown to provide growth and improve connection in couples. Many people like to go out to dinner, or buy each other gifts, but there are ways to still have a great time in a cost efficient manner. This can be done in many ways, like playing games with each other, watching movies at home, or even something as simple as cooking dinner together. Money is not what matters, it is the time that is shared together that is most important. If you are looking to go out somewhere and leave the house, there are many diverse ways to get this done. Going out to a restaurant to eat dinner together, shopping, or a cute valentines themed picnic. While these are not the only options available, it all depends on the couple and their preferences.
Sophomore Hanna Brianna said: “For valentines day, I am going to go home and build the lego set that my boyfriend got me! We aren’t able to hang out today, so we have to plan another day but we are just going to chill and spend time with each other.”
If you don’t have a partner, there are many other people Valentine’s Day could be celebrated with. A common name used to talk about Valentine’s Day is known as “Galentine’s Day”. This is where girls get together and celebrate their friendship with each other. It is normally held on February 13th, and singles as well as people in relationships can come together on this day. Some things that can be planned to be convenient and practical are a karaoke night with everybody’s favorite songs included, a galentines themed party, or a valentines themed crafting day with things like paintings and bracelet making. The possibilities are endless, and creativity is key in creating a fun filled day for everybody’s enjoyment.
The day can also be spent with family, and Seminole High sophomore Kayla Ramsey has this to say about her valentines plans: “For valentines day, after school I have volleyball practice and we are having a valentines themed kind of party. After that, me and my family are going to go out to eat to finish off the night!” It is always important to make your family feel special and loved and Valentine’s Day is a day you can prioritize that.
Self love can also be celebrated on this day, and there are many ways to find pleasure on the day alone. While some people like to be in big groups, others find more enjoyment by themselves. Some things you can do unaccompanied are going on a hike or walk, taking a relaxing spa day, prioritizing yourself, ordering food from your favorite restaurant, or spending the night having a romantic comedy movie marathon with your favorite snacks and drinks. While it is easy to feel left out when spending this day alone, just because you do not have a significant other does not mean that you cannot find ways to celebrate yourself.
No matter if you are single or in a relationship, it is essential to prioritize love on this exceptionally special day, and carry this love all throughout the year. Happy Valentine’s Day to all!
