It’s that time again! With December rolling in and the weather becoming colder, comes one of everyone’s favorite holidays. Christmas is rounding the corner once again!
Christmas is arguably one of the most liked holidays by millions of people. A ton of preparation goes into this holiday with food being baked, gingerbread houses being decorated, and stockings being set. Through all these fun activities, however, one prevails and especially excites people, and that is Christmas gifts. The moment the clock hits midnight, gifts are opened and excitement hits as they see what surprises await them. To get in the spirit of Christmas, children and adults of all ages spend hours and hours perfecting their Christmas wish list, making presentations and lists. After all, it’s the one holiday where all bets are off and wishes come true.
The millions of options can be overwhelming and most people struggle with creating the perfect wishlist. Trying to rack up as many things as they can without spending too much or too little. The only time of the year when all stores have Christmas deals, and not minor ones either.
There are hundreds of options for gifts and choosing the best ones can be stressful. For under 25, you could get the sol de janeiro perfumes, phone cases, makeup, and more. On the more expensive side, there are airpods, macbooks, apple watches, white fox hoodies, and more.
From skincare to electronics, these are some students’ opinions about what’s on their perfect Christmas wishlist.
IB sophomore, Deeksha Kamesh, exclaims: “Christmas is definitely one of my favorite holidays. Me and my family usually bake cookies and sometimes go on a vacation. One of the things I look forward to is definitely making my Christmas wishlist. Before Christmas, if I ever find something I like on TikTok, I usually add it to a collection to use later. I used Canva and everything to make it pretty. For my list I put candles, a jelly cat, a bluetooth speaker, an alarm clock, a new blanket, and some food.”
A sophomore, Shreeya Gumlapuram, shares her list consisting of “the lululemon defined jacket, ugg sneakers, the dyson air wrap, maybe a white jeep G-wagon, airpods, a macbook, and the YSL heels.”
Leah Ko, an IB sophomore, exclaims “for christmas, I just want an electric guitar and junior mint chocolates.”
“I put in a lot of effort making a presentation for my Christmas list. I used Canva and got the links and everything. It took probably an hour, but I think I got pretty much everything I wanted. It had new makeup, clothes like hoodies and sweaters for fall, stuffed animals, and a ton of other stuff. For Christmas, me and my family friends usually have a vacation and do secret Santa so for that we usually go to the mall and find gifts for each other, which is always really fun. Last year, we went to South Carolina and we went to this adorable cabin and went sledding. This year we’re most likely going to Georgia.” explains IB sophomore Anshika Pinninaraju.
Overall, makeup and clothes seem to be the main target this Christmas. Although there are a lot of different options as well, ranging from stuffed animals to a G-Wagon. Millions of people worldwide are already ready for the discounts to come and the snow to hit. Christmas outfits are already in the cart and kitchens are being prepped. So now the question is, what’s going to be on your Christmas wish list?
