WHIMSICAL WINTER WEEK
December 4, 2017
It is that magical time of the year when ‘Noles dress up for Winter Week! Organized by Leadership, the five days of dress-up and festivities are centered around community and charity. Since the season of giving is approaching, Leadership encourages students to bring in their canned foods and participate in activities during the week.
“A big part of Winter Week is the end, leading up to the foundation Share Your Christmas,” said student body president Iffat Nawsheen. “The student body collects canned goods for the community. Leadership and I get broadcasted on Wesh 2 news to promote the fundraiser and spread the word.”
Returning for its third consecutive year, the week starts with Monday’s Pajama Day where ‘Noles wear their favorite pajamas. Next, ‘Noles dress like they are in a cheesy family photo for a family holiday card on Tuesday. On Wednesday, ‘Noles are among Santa’s helpers, dressing as their favorite holiday toy. It’s socks and sweaters on Thursday to rock your favorite holiday gear. “Swinter” rolls around on Friday, where students are encouraged to wear their best summer-in-winter attire!
When picking out the days of the week, a smaller committee in Leadership ventured out to get insight on what students would like to have for the week.
“I love having winter week,” Leadership sophomore Grant Vinson said. “It is just another week to express school spirit and just have some overall fun!”
